Position incoder provides feedback from the shift motor to the TCCU. 4 switch signals, from encoder, provide information on rotational direction and location of shift motor. The MPS(Motor Position Sensor) receives 5 volts from the TCCU. In cases where the mode switch changes; the shift motor is operates, and MPS contact point creates an ON/OFF signal. When 5 volts is recieved by the TCCU, it monitors operation of shift motor.
Related to position incoder1, this trouble code is set if case position encoder2 signal harness is either grounded or short circuited.
